Article marketing penLeverage your work by doing the article research once and turning it into several articles.  It’s easy to find 25 short tips on your topic all over the Internet whereas finding 25 topics to write about is much more difficult.  So, what you do is take your 25 tips and make 5 “five tips articles.”  Then you can expand on each tip and make a complete article based on each tip.  This will give you thirty articles total in a fraction of the time that it would have taken to think up and research 30 articles from scratch.

3 Powerful Article Marketing Traffic Tips

I’ve tried just about every type of traffic generation method that I can find, but article marketing still tops the list for producing high quality targeted traffic.  Some traffic methods work really well for a while and then fizzle out; however article marketing has kept a steady flow of traffic coming to my sites and blogs for years.   Below I’ve listed 3 article marketing traffic tips that will assure that you get the highest return on your investment of article writing efforts.

1. Submit your articles to ezinearticles.com before you submit them to any other directory.  As you may have seen in a previous post ezinearticles.com is a powerful article directory with almost 10 million visitors per month.  One of the reasons that they get so many visitors is that Google appears to love them and places their content (your articles) high in the search results.

Another reason you would want to submit to ezinearticle.com first is because they only accept unique content that hasn’t been already submitted all over the Net.  There is one exception to the rule.   You may submit your articles to your own blog or Web site first.

2. Base your articles on long tail keywords.  Writing articles based on two word keywords such as “weight loss” will likely leave your articles berried in an ocean of competition.  Long tail keywords are 3, 4, and 5 word keyword phrases.  There are far fewer searches for these keyword phrases, but they can actually produce more traffic for you because they are easier to rank well for in the search engines.   An example of a long tail keyword phrase may be “article marketing traffic tips”

3. Include your long tail keyword phrase in your article title.  Your article title is the most important element of your article as far as traffic is concerned.  You can write the most interesting and informative article the world has ever seen, but write a boring headline or one that won’t be found in the search engines and you can forget about traffic.

Not only should your headline include your long tailed keyword it should either include a benefit or create curiosity.  First you use your long tail keyword so people will find your article then you must make your title compelling so the people who find it will read it.
