4 Ways to Make Money with Article Marketing Part 2
In a previous post I revieled 2 ways that I use to make money with article marketing. Here in part 2 of that post I talk about 2 additional ways. Here is the link to the first part 4 Ways to Make Money with Article Marketing Part 1
Sell Your Own Products – Selling your own products through article marketing is done pretty much in the same way as you would sell affiliate products except that instead of writing a presell or review page you would direct them from your article’s resource box to your own sales page.
Build a List – This works well for enhancing all three of the above methods. First you would drive traffic from your articles to what’s known as a squeeze page. On this page you would offer the visitor some type of enticement to sign up for your newsletter. This can be a free ebook or a 5 part mini-course for example.
After they sign up for your list you could send them an email about a new article that you just put up on your website or blog. The article would have Adsense strategically placed on it. Another technique would be sending them an email when you find affiliate products that they may be interested in or to promote your own products.
It’s important that you don’t just keep sending them blatant promotions because you will come across as somewhat of a spammer and they will quickly unsubscribe.
If you would like to know all of the nitty gritty details on these 4 ways to make money with your articles check out my brand new course. It’s called The Complete Article Marketing Plan. It shows newbies with absolutely no experience how to make their first $1000 online and it also shows experienced marketers how to get more traffic from article marketing done right.
4 Ways to Make Money with Article Marketing Part 1
Although there are lots of ways to make money with article marketing here are 4 of the methods I use. All of these methods require you to write articles or have them written by someone else and submit them to article directories. The articles will have links back to your website included in your article’s resource box. These are evergreen methods that will have you making money with your articles for years to come.
Adsense – This is the first method of Internet marketing that actually made me money online after years of trying. It’s probably one of the easiest ways to start making money with your article marketing. It’s easy because you don’t have to sell anything.
You simply drive traffic to your website and have Google Adsense ads placed in strategic locations on your pages. Google actually chooses which ads to place on your web pages based on the content that’s already there. Your readers see the ads and all they have to do is click on them and you get paid. The pay usually ranges anywhere from a few cents to a few dollars.
Affiliate products – another way to make money with your article marketing is with affiliate products. This is where you choose a merchant’s product that you would like to promote. Then you would drive your article readers to a landing page where you would presell the product. You don’t actually do any selling; leave that up to the merchant’s sales page.
The only objective of the presell page is to get your visitors to click a link on your page that leads to the merchant’s sales letter. If they buy the product or service you get paid. Another type of landing page you could drive your article readers to is a review page. This is where you write a review of one or more products with links to the respective merchants.

How to Outsource Article Writing Without Money
There is a way to outsource article writing without money. Simply ask a friend, college student, or high school kid to write articles for you. Now why in the heck would they want to do that? Tell them you make money by promoting products online and you will do all of the online marketing. They will do the article writing and you will split the commissions with them.
You could make a deal for a certain period of time. For example, you will split the commissions for 60 days for all the articles they write for you this month. You could also have them be your partner on a specific web site. As long as they are writing for you all of the commissions the site makes will be split. If they stop writing they stop getting paid. Of course you will be paid for a long time to come as the articles will continue to produce traffic. The most time consuming component of article marketing is, of course, writing so outsourcing that could increase your profits dramatically.
Top 5 Article Directories
Back in 2005 when I started article marketing I used to submit my articles to hundreds of article directories with a semi-automated article submitter. It was great for getting back links to my web sites and blogs which helped them in the search engines. Now I submit articles primarily for traffic and I only use a handful of article directories. Here the top 5 article directories that product the best results for me. Don’t tell anyone. LOL
1. EzineArticles.com – This is easily numero ono in the top 5 article directories. They one of the oldest and largest article directories on the web with over 9.7 million visitors per month. By the way, that’s only U.S. visitors, I don’t have the statistics for the rest of the world. The site enjoys a PR6 page rank. This is one of Google’s methods of displaying a site’s popularity.
2. Zimbio.com – Zimbio boasts over 10 million global visitors per month with 5.8 million from the U.S. This is a directory that many in the Internet marketing field either don’t know about or they’re not talking about. Lots of my articles get very good search engine rankings when submitted to Zimbio. This site is also a PR6. Zimbio considers itself more of an online magazine network than an article directory, but they do accept articles and you can also submit an RSS feed from your blog.
3. Buzzle.com – Buzzle receives over 2.6 million U. S. visitors per month. The site is ranked at a PR5 and is growing rapidly in readership. They are kind of picky and they only want quality authors and articles. If you were a spammer even in a former life they may throw you out on your butt.
4. SerchWarp.com – This is a much smaller article directory with 650 thousand monthly U.S. visitors but don’t discount them. With some of the articles I’ve written I receive up to 5 times the traffic that I receive from ezinearticles.com. This, of course, depends on the topic that I’m writing about. The site has recently been increased to a PR4.
5. IdeaMarketers.com – This PR3 site receives approximately 160 thousand U.S. monthly visitors. They’ve been around for a while and a lot of Internet marketers submit articles there.
There you have it. My top 5 article directories of choice.
Writing to Make Money
You can make your first $1000 online and much more by writing articles just like I did. Writing to make money is easy if you know a few secrets. This article briefly outlines the process so you can get started today. The best part is there is no experience necessary to begin. You don’t need a degree in journalism and you don’t even need to know how to make a website to get started.
There are several methods of writing to make money. You could start a writing service by which other people would pay you to write articles for them. The going rate for a one page, 500 word article is approximately $8.00 to $15.00. Many people will be interested in buying articles in packages of 10, 25 or more.
Web site owners are starved for content. It helps their rankings in the search engines and that provides them with more traffic. You could find plenty of work by offering your writing service on forums. Another way to find clients would be to join freelance sites such as eLance.com or Guru.com for example.
Although the above method is a sure fire way to make money with your writing, there are even more profitable ways. You see, when you write an article and sell it you get paid once and that’s it. I like writing articles to promote affiliate products. This way you can get paid over and over again from each article that you write. To do this you would need to do some product research to determine the types of products people are already buying.
Next you would do keyword research to find out which keywords prospective buyers are typing in to the search engines. You would then write an article based on those keywords and submit that article to various article directories. These directories make your articles available to website owners, newsletter publishers and others who would use them as content. This, in turn, would drive traffic to your website or affiliate offers from a link within your article.
You will want to make sure that your articles are interesting and informative. This will make website and ezine owners more likely to publish them. Getting your articles published on high volume websites or by someone with a huge mailing list can drive hordes of traffic to your website or affiliate offer. It may sound a little complicated, but it is really simple after you do it once. Of course, it’s even easier if you have a plan to follow.
I’ve been using this method of writing to make money since 2005. It has helped me develop my basic Internet marketing skills and become a full-time internet marketer. So many people try to get into Internet marketing without learning the basics of writing and marketing first. Starting with article marketing is one of the best ways to learn and it’s free except for your time.
